Proteomic Analysis of Cyanobacteria Employing Two-Dimensional Gel Electrophoresis
(CRC Press, 2024) Garvita Singh; Preeti Agarwal; Pritam Kaur; Akanksha Madan; Rajeshwar P. Sinha
Photosynthetic Gram-negative cyanobacteria have been developing on Earth for 2.8–3.5 billion years and initiated the existence of aerobic life because of their ability to fix atmospheric CO2 and evolve O2. Cyanobacteria are adapted to survive in extremely diverse habitats such as aquatic and terrestrial; from hot springs to polar regions; at extreme salt, pH, and light conditions. Therefore, multiple forms (unicellular and filamentous; free-living and symbiotic; freshwater and marine) can be observed in cyanobacteria (Sánchez-Baracaldo and Cardona 2020). © 2024 selection and editorial matter, Shailendra P. Singh, Rajeshwar P. Sinha and Donat-P. Häder; individual chapters, the contributors.
