    Role of metaverse in events industry: An empirical approach

    The metaverse holds immense potential to transform the event industry, seamlessly blending augmented reality, virtual reality, and internet-based platforms to deliver captivating and engaging experiences. This proposal delves into the profound impact of the metaverse on event organization and participation, showcasing the success of platforms such as Decentraland and Roblox in hosting virtual events. The study explores the various factors that impact the adoption of metaverse, such as performance expectations, ease of use, social influence, and facilitating conditions. The findings highlight the significance of technology that is easy to use, a strong infrastructure, and making use of social networks. This research provides valuable insights for event organizers to improve consumer engagement and adoption rates, ultimately integrating the metaverse into the event industry. © 2024, IGI Global.
