A Superspace Description of Chern-Simons Theory in Batalin-Vilkovisky Formulation
(Springer New York LLC, 2015) Sudhaker Upadhyay; Manoj Kumar Dwivedi; Bhabani Prasad Mandal
We discuss the extended BRST and anti-BRST symmetry (including shift symmetry) in the Batalin-Vilkovisky (BV) formulation for the Chern-Simons (CS) theories in (2 + 1) spacetime dimensions. Further we develop the superspace description of BV formulation for such theories. Interestingly, the extended BRST invariant CS theories can be described in superspace in covariant manner with the help of one more (Grassmann) coordinate. However, a superspace with two Grassmann coordinates are required for a manifestly covariant formulation of the extended BRST and extended anti-BRST invariant actions for these theories. © 2014, Springer Science+Business Media New York.

Emergence of Lowenstein-Zimmermann mass terms for QED3
(World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte Ltd, 2015) Sudhaker Upadhyay; Manoj Kumar Dwivedi; Bhabani Prasad Mandal
In this paper we consider a super-renormalizable theory of massless QED in (2 + 1) dimensions and discuss their BRST symmetry transformation. By extending the BRST transformation, we derive the Nielsen identities for the theory. Further, we compute the generalized BRST (so-called FFBRST) transformation by making the transformation parameter field dependent. Remarkably, we observe that the Lowenstein-Zimmermann mass terms, containing Lowenstein-Zimmermann parameter which plays an important role in the BPHZL renormalization program, along with the external sources coupled to the nonlinear BRST variations appear naturally in the theory through an FFBRST transformation. © 2015 World Scientific Publishing Company.

Quantum Gauge Symmetry of Reducible Gauge Theory
(Springer New York LLC, 2017) Manoj Kumar Dwivedi
We derive the gaugeon formalism of the Kalb-Ramond field theory, a reducible gauge theory, which discusses the quantum gauge freedom. In gaugeon formalism, theory admits quantum gauge symmetry which leaves the action form-invariant. The BRST symmetric gaugeon formalism is also studied which introduces the gaugeon ghost fields and gaugeon ghosts of ghosts fields. To replace the Yokoyama subsidiary conditions by a single Kugo-Ojima type condition the virtue of BRST symmetry is utilized. Under generalized BRST transformations, we show that the gaugeon fields appear naturally in the reducible gauge theory. © 2017, Springer Science+Business Media New York.

The noncovariant gauges in 3-form theories
(2013) Sudhaker Upadhyay; Manoj Kumar Dwivedi; Bhabani Prasad Mandal
We study the 3-form gauge theory in the context of generalized BRST formulation. We construct the finite field-dependent BRST symmetry for such a theory. The generating functional for 3-form gauge theory in noncovariant gauge is obtained from that of covariant gauge. We further extend the results by considering 3-form gauge theory in the context of Batalin-Vilkovisky formulation. © World Scientific Publishing Company.

The Quantum Description of BF Model in Superspace
(Hindawi Limited, 2018) Manoj Kumar Dwivedi
We consider the BRST symmetric four-dimensional BF theory, a topological theory, containing antisymmetric tensor fields in Landau gauge and extend the BRST symmetry by introducing a shift symmetry to it. Within this formulation, the antighost fields corresponding to shift symmetry coincide with antifields of standard field/antifield formulation. Furthermore, we provide a superspace description for the BF model possessing extended BRST and extended anti-BRST transformations. © 2018 Manoj Kumar Dwivedi.
