PublicationArticle A Novel False Data Injection Attack Formulation Based on CUR Low-Rank Decomposition Method(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2022) Debottam Mukherjee; Sandip Ghosh; Rakesh Kumar MisraState estimation algorithms deployed in modern grids are vulnerable towards false data injection attacks. This work demonstrates a novel attack vector (AV) formulation scheme by exploiting the low-rank subspace of the topology matrix. With constraints over the state deviation vector, this work showcases that the developed AV can effectively bypass the residue test for a demonstrated test bench. © 2010-2012 IEEE.PublicationArticle A Numerical Bifurcation Analysis of Indirect Vector-Controlled Induction Motor(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2018) Jitendra Kr. Jain; Sandip Ghosh; Somnath MaityIndirect vector-controlled induction motor (IVCIM) dynamics is well known for having different bifurcation behavior, viz., saddle-node bifurcation, Hopf bifurcation (HB), Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation, and zero-HB. A numerical analysis of these bifurcations for proportional-integral-controlled IVCIM is made in this brief using full-order IM model. Some new observations on the bifurcation behavior are made. Simulation and experimental results are presented validating the bifurcation behaviors. © 2017 IEEE.PublicationArticle Bacterioboat—A novel tool to increase the half-life period of the orally administered drug(American Association for the Advancement of Science, 2022) Parmandeep Kaur; Sandip Ghosh; Arghya Bhowmick; Kundlik Gadhave; Satabdi Datta; Abhrajyoti Ghosh; Neha Garg; Roop L. Mahajan; Biswarup Basu; Diptiman ChoudhuryThe short half-life in the GI tract necessitates an excess of drugs causing side effects of oral formulations. Here, we report the development and deployment of Bacterioboat, which consists of surface-encapsulated mesoporous nanoparticles on metabolically active Lactobacillus reuteri as a drug carrier suitable for oral administration. Bacterioboat showed up to 16% drug loading of its dry weight, intestinal anchorage around alveoli regions, sustained release, and stability in physiological conditions up to 24 hours. In vivo studies showed that oral delivery of 5-fluorouracil leads to increased potency, resulting in improved shrinkage of solid tumors, enhanced life expectancy, and reduced side effects. This novel design and development make this system ideal for orally administrable drugs with low solubility or permeability or both and even making them effective at a lower dose. Saket; Eklas Hossain; Shyam Krishna NagarThis article concerns the problem of stability analysis of systems with time-varying delay. Recent developments in this direction involves approximation of a second order polynomial function of time-delay. This article proposes a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii Functional that does not introduce the second-order polynomial and thereby avoid the approximation involved in obtaining the stability criterion. Two stability criterion are presented, one introduces the second-order polynomial and the other one does not. A comparison using numerical examples shows that the avoidance of second-order polynomial formulation leads to improved results. © 2013 IEEE.PublicationArticle New results on restricted static output feedback H∞ controller design with regional pole placement(Institution of Engineering and Technology, 2019) Pradosh Ranjan Sahoo; Jitendra Kumar Goyal; Sandip Ghosh; Asim Kumar NaskarThis study addresses the design of static output feedback (SOF) controller for continuous time linear systems. New sufficient conditions are derived for designing SOF controllers. The development involves suitable decomposition of Lyapunov matrices and deriving linear matrix inequality (LMI) criterion that ensures H∞ performance. LMI criteria for pole placement in the LMI region are also derived. The proposed criteria can be used for restricted SOF controller design effectively. Several numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed results. © The Institution of Engineering and Technology 2019
