Diversity-oriented leadership (DOL) as a predictor of employee advocacy (EA) in select fortune Indian companies: mediating effects of symmetrical internal communication (SIC) and work engagement (WE)
(Cogent OA, 2024) Sanaya Khanna; Twinkle Prusty
Rising globalization, changing labour-market demographics, and fast-paced continuous transitions have increased the necessity of diversity-oriented leadership in appreciating people of varied origins and traits and, to some extent, addressing these organizational difficulties. The study aims to investigate the impact of diversity-oriented leadership on the advocative behaviours of employees working in selected companies, using the social exchange theory framework. Furthermore, it aims to evaluate the mediation effects of symmetrical internal communication and work engagement, as well as covariates/control variables like age, gender, educational qualifications, and the chosen company, on the association between diversity-oriented leadership and employee advocacy. The current study uses the Post-Positivism Philosophy to evaluate the cause-and-effect relationship between selected constructs. A sample size of 413 individuals was drawn from the employee bases of the chosen Fortune Indian companies using proportionate random sampling method. A self- structured research instrument was used employing several scales, derived from the ‘Inclusion and Belonging Assessment Scale’, with items ranging from strongly- agree to strongly disagree. The study uses the Hayes Process Macro-Model Version 4.0 in SPSS 20.0 to examine the effect of diversity-oriented leadership on employee advocacy. It also takes into account the mediating roles of symmetrical internal communication and work engagement, as well as covariates like age, gender, educational background, and the chosen company. The results indicate that both symmetrical internal communication and work engagement partially mediate the relationship between diversity-oriented leadership and employee advocacy, and the mediation is complementary. Additionally, the company was found to be a significant covariate affecting employee advocacy and work engagement but had an insignificant impact on symmetrical internal communication. © 2024 The Author(s). Does board structure index and ownership structure index impact on top listed Indian company's performance?
(Inderscience Publishers, 2020) Waleed M. Al-Ahdal; Twinkle Prusty
This study investigates the association that exists between board structure index, ownership structure index and the financial performance of Nifty 100 Indian companies listed on the National Stock Exchange. The study intends to determine whether board structure index and ownership structure index have an impact on companies' performance measured by return on assets (ROA) and return on capital employed (ROCE). It provides empirical investigation for 73 non-financial firms in India from 2009 to 2016. The fixed effect model (FEM) regression was used to measure the association between the variables. Results indicate that board structure index and firm size have a significant impact on return on capital employed and return on assets. It is also observed that the ownership structure index and leverage have positive but insignificant impact on firms' performance. The research, therefore, proposes that policymakers and legislative bodies interpret this proof as a motive for them to improve the procedures of corporate boards to cope efficiently with the distinctive characteristics of corporate governance in emerging markets such as India by using Nifty 100 as a case. The role of education in moderating the impact of development on environmental sustainability in OECD countries
(Springer Nature, 2024) Muskan Sahu; Twinkle Prusty; Waleed M. Alahdal; Akmalia Mohamad Ariff; Faozi A. Almaqtari; Hafiza Aishah Hashim
This study explores the interconnections among industrialization, urbanization, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and carbon emissions (CO2e) across 31 OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) countries from 1998 to 2020. In addition, it analyzes how education moderates these relationships. This study employs CO2e as the explained variable, while industrialization, urbanization, and FDI serve as explanatory variables, with education as a moderator. This research utilized Hierarchical regression analysis to examine how education moderates the associations among industrialization, urbanization, FDI, and CO2e. Additionally, to validate the reliability of our results, we utilized the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM). The results of this study imply that CO2e levels increase with the level of industrialization and urbanization. The pursuit of education also contributed to the increase in CO2e. Moreover, education and industrialization have detrimental effects on CO2e. To fill this gap in the existing literature, this study investigates the relationship between industrialization, urbanization, FDI, and CO2e, a domain with scarce empirical investigations. Furthermore, this study contributes uniquely to the literature by investigating the moderating influence of education on the relationships between independent variables and CO2e. This original aspect of this research aims to enhance our understanding of the complex connections between these factors. © The Author(s) 2024.
