Project Report Synthesis of novel zwitterionic polymers and study of their optoelectronic, electrochemical characteristics and application for sensor development(Department of Chemistry, Mahila Mahavidyalaya, 2012-07-01) Singh, MeenakshiProject Report Design and development of some new cost-effective optical sensors for the detection of Zn2+, Cd2+ and Hg2+(Department of Chemistry, 2012-07-01) Upadhyay, K KProject Report Germplasm Conservation of Couroupita guianensis and Spondias mangifera through Tissue Culture(Department of Botany, 2012-07-01) Kumari, NishiProject Report Agricultural utilization of sewage sludge and fly ash: single and interactive effects on soil and plant grown(Department of Environmental Science, 2012-07-01) Singh, Rajeev PratapThe present study clearly indicates that sewage sludge / fly ash and amendment of their mixture modified the characteristics of agricultural farm soil. Organic C, nitrogen, available P etc. increased in soil due to sewage sludge as well as fly ash amendments. The present report examines the levels of essential (Cu, Zn, Cr and Ni) and nonessential heavy metals (Cd and Pb) in sewage sludge, fly ash and in its mixtures. The report also examines the concentrations of heavy metals in different test plants grown at different rates of fly ash, sewage sludge and their mixtures.Project Report Antiproliferative and Antitumor Activity of Extracts of Certain Orchid Plants(Department of Zoology, 2012-07-01) Koch, Biplob1. To investigate the in vitro anticancer activity of the three Dendrobium species ethanolic extracts. 2. To determine the cytotoxic effect of the extracts against both normal and cancer cell lines. 3. To study the effect of plant extracts on induction of apoptosis in cancer cells. 4. To elucidate the effect of the plant extracts on the expression of apoptotic proteins and genes in cancer cell lines. 5. To investigate the anticancer activity of the Dendrobium species ethanolic extracts in in vivo condition.Project Report A novel study of nanolayered tunable optical filter based on Photonic band gap materials with various applications(Department of Physics, 2012-07-01) Srivastava, Sanjay KumarProject Report Modulation of Nitric Oxide synthases and induction of apoptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma by fiestin(Department of Zoology, 2012-07-01) Trigun, S KFiestin, a natural flavanol, found in many common fruits and vegetables, was evident to modulate tumor growth associated signaling cascade in HCC cells in vivo and thus provided a cellular and molecular basis of anti cancer activity of this compound. Thus, this outcome provides a base line data to (a) evaluate translational feasibility of fisetin as an effective anti-HCC therapy and (b) advocates fruits and vegetable rich diet to prevent development of HCC and other tumor growth in human subjects.
