Heterobimetallic complexes of the type M[Pb(i-MNT)2] (M=Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Cu(II) and dioxouranium(VI); i-MNT = isomaleonitriledithiolate2-] have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, infrared and UV-visible spectral studies. Solid state electrical conductivity measurements suggest that the complexes behave as semiconductors. Their conductivities increase with the increase in temperature from 308 to 353 K. One of the compounds, Zn[Pb(i-MNT)2], shows aband gap (1.02 eV) which is quite worthy of further investigations.
