Title: The evaluation of elastic constants of Mg2Sn and Mg 2Si by an angular force model
Abstract
The method introduced by Gazis et al (1960) for taking angular forces into account has been used to derive the coupling coefficient of fluorite structure and to compute elastic constants of Mg2Sn and Mg2Si. Very good agreement with experimental results has been obtained. The difference between this type of angular force and that used by de Launay (1956) has been pointed out and the inadequacy of the latter has been discussed.
