The possibility of utilizing mixed adsorbent materials red mud with haematite and china clay and china clay with fly ash and red mud alone for the removal of As3+ from solution has been investigated in a batch type experiment. The effect of solution pH on adsorption process of low cost mixed adsorbents is reported and observed that favorable conditions are attained at an equilibrium time of 140 min and pH of 8 and maximum removal of As3+ in the range of 79-86%. The process of adsorption of As3+ is found to be time dependent and thus its removal is effective, economic and convenient.
