The annealing of radiolytic damage in irradiated potassium and thallium nitrates is quite different from that of lead nitrate. In the case of potassium nitrate the transition introduces a more or less discontinuous recombination of fragments. In the thallium salt the low temperature annealing isotherm is not so very different from lead nitrate but a modest rise in temperature changes the characteristics of the process. Data are also given concerning the behaviour on heating of irradiated barium nitrate, silver nitrate and sodium nitrate. © 1963, Walter de Gruyter. All rights reserved.
