| dc.description.abstract | The time dependent perturbation theory of the gain dynamics of erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFA's) is presented in this paper. The perturbed output is expressed explicitly in terms of the input perturbation. The general theory is then applied to sinusoidal tones; the results agree well with the experiment. | |
