dc.description.abstractVarious ketones can be prepared by the reaction of secondary alcohols with in situ electrochemically generated superoxide ion and molecular oxygen. As compared to the chemical oxidation of secondary alcohols to ketones, the reported method is milder and represents a useful extension to the known procedures. © 1989 Georg Thieme Verlag.
