dc.description.abstractPreviously unknown dioxazadibenzocyclodecene-6-one, -6-thione and other homologues were prepared via the intermediacy of a 1,9-dianion generated and used in situ from N-(2-hydroxymethylphenyl)salicylideneimine followed by treatment with a variety of dielectrophiles in a simple one-pot procedure. The products were characterized by satisfactory elemental analyses and spectral (IR,1H,13C NMR and Mass) studies.
