Further constituents of Rhamnus triquetra and CNS activity of emodin

Abstract

Chromatographic resolution of the alcoholic extract of the whole plant of R. triquetra furnished kaempferol, kaempferol-7-O-methyl ether, kaempferol-4'-O-methyl ether, emodin, physcion-8β-D-glusoside and emodin-8-β-D-glucoside. Emodin exhibited CNS depressant activity.
