A rare antibacterial flavone glucoside from Lantana camara

Abstract

A rare flavone glucoside is isolated from the polar fraction of the leaves of Lantana camara. It was characterised as Pectolinarigenin -7-O-β.D. glucoside 1 by chemical and spectroscopic methods. The antibacterial activity is done against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration.
