Generalized chain estimators for the population mean in the presence of non-response

Abstract

In this paper, we have proposed two generalized chain estimators for population mean using main and additional auxiliary characters in the presence of non-response and their properties are studied. The proposed estimators have been found to be more efficient than the relevant estimators for fixed values of n' and n, and for fixed cost C <C0. The proposed estimators have less total cost in comparison to the cost incurred by the corresponding relevant estimators for specified precision.
