Abstract
The conductance of NaNO3 has been measured between 9·0 and 1·0 mmol/litre in dioxan- water mixtures covering 78·54 > D > 12· 45 at 25°C. The data were analysed with Fuoss-Onsager and Skinner (1965) equations on an IBM 7044 computer to get Λ0, KA and α0(L). Λ0η shows dependence on the solvent composition. The ion-size parameter a0(L) increases with decrease in dielectric constant up to D = 36.05 and decreases thereafter. Log KA vs 1/D yields a straight line giving a value of a0(K) = 8.63. The variation of a0(L) with D is discussed. © 1972.
