Abstract
The polarized Raman spectra of 2-chloro-6-methylaniline have been recorded in the region 100-4000 cm** minus **1 in liquid phase on a Jobin Yvon Ramanor HG. 2S spectrometer equipped with an argon-ion laser source. The infrared spectrum of this compound has been recorded in the region 300-4000 cm** minus **1 in liquid phase on a Perkin Elmer-621 spectrometer using a cell with KBr windows. The observed bands have been assigned assuming C//s point group symmetry for the molecule and it has been possible to assign all the 45 normal modes of vibration in the present case.
