Abstract

The effect of vitamin A and cortisone drops on ascorbic acid content of the aqueous humor was studied in 24 albino rabbits (48 eyes). After administration of cortisone for 7 and 14 days, there was a statistically significant lowering of the ascorbic acid concentration in the aqueous humor. Further, after addition of vitamin A drops locally, a significant rise in ascorbic acid content of the aqueous humor was noted.
