Effect of irradiation and vinblastine administration on free α amino nitrogen changes in plasma, erythrocyte and leucocyte

Abstract

The free α amino nitrogen concentrations in plasma and erythrocytes were significantly lowered, whereas leucocytes showed a marked increase after localized irradiation or vinblastine administration. Irradiation also induced a fall in total plasma proteins and albumin concentrations, whereas the administration of vinblastine was associated with highly significant polymorphonuclear neutropenia.
