Abstract
In the present work, values of the optical band gap Eg of glassy Se 100-xSbx alloys are determined from experimentally observed data of transmission at different wavelengths using three different methods. The theoretical prediction of Eg values is also made using random bond network model proposed by Shimakawa.The composition dependence of Eg is discussed using chemical bond approach.
