Ascent and descent of composition operators on lp spaces

Abstract

Let lp (1 ≤ p ≤ ∞) be the Banach space of all p-summable sequences (bounded sequences for p - ∞) of complex numbers under the standard p-norm on it and Cφ be a composition operator on V induced by a function φ on ℕ into itself. In this paper we give a characterization of composition operators whose ascent and descent are infinite. © 2010 Warsaw University. All rights reserved.
