Title:
Therapeutic potential of plant-based metal nanoparticles: Present status and future perspectives

Abstract

Green nanoparticles are environment friendly and have established a promising role in drug delivery. These plant-based nanoparticles may be effective alternatives to antibiotics in combating different pathogenic fungi because of undergoing mutations and resistance in pathogens. However, their toxicity in humans should be checked before they can be recommended as therapeutics. The chapter deals with diverse metal nanoparticles used for human welfare, their chemical and biological synthesis as green nanoparticles, various applications, and their limitations during application, with special emphasis on their antifungal properties. © 2017 Elsevier Inc.
