| dc.description.abstract | Modern-day agriculture has been bestowed with the duty to feed the over growing population. Agriculture’s journey of feeding millions resulted in some major global crises, such as the emission of greenhouse gases, land degradation, loss of biodiversity and deduction of natural resource bases. Economically, the world is threatened to lose half of its GDP due to land degradation. Regenerative agriculture is the method of growing crops the way nature does. It is an approach to reviving our indigenous farming, protecting our soil, enhancing rural development and establishing direct connections between producer and consumer by bringing them together on the same plate. This food production system is a success at the micro level in developed nations such as Australia and the United States, but at the macro level, the system is still under evaluation. In a developing nation like India, where agriculture is the backbone of the rural economy, regenerative agriculture will play a crucial role in achieving food and nutritional security, reducing poverty, promoting natural farming, reducing social insecurity, etc. Thus, regenerative agriculture is profitable in all dimensions. Thus, just increasing the pace of awareness along with government initiatives can make regenerative agriculture a globally profitable venture. © 2024 CRC Press. | |
