Abstract
The rise in water contamination is considered one of the major challenges of environmental pollution and needs to be addressed promptly. Recently, the role of nanocomposites has become increasingly important for removing various organic dyes from wastewater. In particular, silver nanocomposites have proven to be effective new materials for the catalytic removal of different organic dyes. This review summarizes various silver-based nanocomposites used for wastewater treatment. Additionally, the study demonstrates how polymers, graphene oxide sheets, and metal oxides enhance pollutant removal. The review concludes that silver nanocomposites hold great promise for removing organic dyes from wastewater. These advanced materials exhibit exceptional photocatalytic properties that enable the effective destruction of a range of dye pollutants.
