ZolinThe PHENIX experiment presents results from the RHIC 2006 run with polarized p+p collisions at s=62.4GeV, for inclusive π0 production at midrapidity. Unpolarized cross section results are measured for transverse momenta pT=0.5 to 7GeV/c. Next-to-leading order perturbative quantum chromodynamics calculations are compared with the data, and while the calculations are consistent with the measurements, next-to-leading logarithmic corrections improve the agreement. Double helicity asymmetries ALL are presented for pT=1 to 4GeV/c and probe the higher range of Bjorken x of the gluon (xg) with better statistical precision than our previous measurements at s=200GeV. ZwaskaWe present updated results from the NOvA experiment for νμ→νμ and νμ→νe oscillations from an exposure of 8.85×1020 protons on target, which represents an increase of 46% compared to our previous publication. The results utilize significant improvements in both the simulations and analysis of the data. A joint fit to the data for νμ disappearance and νe appearance gives the best-fit point as normal mass hierarchy, Δm322=2.44×10-3 eV2/c4, sin2θ23=0.56, and δCP=1.21π. The 68.3% confidence intervals in the normal mass hierarchy are Δm322[2.37,2.52]×10-3 eV2/c4, sin2θ23[0.43,0.51][0.52,0.60], and δCP[0,0.12π][0.91π,2π]. The inverted mass hierarchy is disfavored at the 95% confidence level for all choices of the other oscillation parameters. © 2018 authors. ZouThe PHENIX Collaboration has measured φ meson production in d+Au collisions at sNN=200 GeV using the dimuon and dielectron decay channels. The φ meson is measured in the forward (backward) d-going (Au-going) direction, 1.2y2.2 (-2.2y-1.2) in the transverse-momentum (pT) range from 1-7 GeV/c and at midrapidity y0.35 in the pT range below 7 GeV/c. The φ meson invariant yields and nuclear-modification factors as a function of pT, rapidity, and centrality are reported. An enhancement of φ meson production is observed in the Au-going direction, while suppression is seen in the d-going direction, and no modification is observed at midrapidity relative to the yield in p+p collisions scaled by the number of binary collisions. ZongInclusive transverse momentum spectra of η mesons in the range pTf2-12 GeV/c have been measured at midrapidity (|η|<0.35) by the PHENIX experiment at RHIC in p+p,d+Au, and Au+Au collisions at sNN=200 GeV. The η mesons are reconstructed through their η→γγ channel for the three colliding systems as well as through the η→π0π+π- decay mode in p+p and d+Au collisions. The nuclear modification factor in d+Au collisions, RdAu(pT)1.0-1.1, suggests at most only modest pT broadening ("Cronin enhancement"). In central Au+Au reactions, the η yields are significantly suppressed, with RAuAu(pT)0.2. The ratio of η to π0 yields is approximately constant as a function of pT for the three colliding systems in agreement with the high-pT world average of Rη/π00.5 in hadron-hadron, hadron-nucleus, and nucleus-nucleus collisions for a wide range of center-of-mass energies (sNN3-1800 GeV) as well as, for high scaled momentum xp, in e+e- annihilations at s=91.2 GeV. In central Au-Au collisions the antiprotons yield was comparable to the π- at high transverse momentum. JoyA high performance liquid chromatography-fluorescence detection method was employed to demonstrate temporal and periovulatory changes in ovarian catecholamines in the catfish Heteropneustes fossilis. Tyrosine, l-DOPA, dopamine (DA), norepinephrine (NE) and epinephrine showed significant seasonal and diurnal changes during the reproductive cycle. A high concentration of tyrosine was detected, the values increased in day and decreased in night during recrudescence from preparatory to spawning phases. Similarly, l-DOPA increased during the breeding phase giving the day value concentration peak in the spawning phase and the night value peak in the postspawning phase. DA activity or turnover index (calculated as a ratio of DA to 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid, DOPAC) showed a bimodal pattern with the major activity peak in the postspawning phase and the minor one in the prespawning phase, the spawning phase registered the lowest activity. NE activity or turnover index (ratio of NE to normetanephrine, NME) increased during the recrudescent phase to give the peak in the spawning phase and decreased in the quiescent phase. Epinephrine elicited an inverse relationship in the day-night pattern, the day values increased to the peak in the spawning phase. All the study correlates showed significant periovulatory changes after hCG treatment. DA activity dropped to the nadir at 8. h but recovered at 16 and 24. h. NE activity showed only a marginal decrease up to 16. h but decreased drastically at 24. h. Epinephrine levels remained unchanged but only to increase at 24. h. The seasonal patterns and periovulatory changes strongly point to important functions for catecholamines in the ovary. The transverse momentum kT dependent transverse radii were similar to results from heavy-ion collisions at √sNN = 4.1, 4.9 and 17.3 GeV. With beam energy the longitudinal radius increased monotonically. Prajapati; Archana Yadav; A. Verma; V. Singh; J.P. SainiIn this paper an optical surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor with metamaterial for four and five layered structure is studied. The numerical results presented in this paper leads to a significant properties of metamaterials in sensing field. Computed results of SPR sensors using metamaterial are compared with conventional optical SPR sensors for four and five layered structure. It is seen that wider dynamic range or effective range of measurable refractive index increases when metamaterial layer is used. It is also verified that SPR sensor with metamaterial layer can dramatically enhance the resolution and reduce the reflectivity compared with conventional SPR. Validity of the magnetic field results is proved on the basis of smooth match of the fields in the different layers of the proposed optical SPR sensor. © 2012 Elsevier GmbH.
