Integral frequency distribution of projectile alpha fragments in nuclear multifragmentations at intermediate and high energies
    (Elsevier, 2008) Fu-Hu Liu; B.K. Singh; N.N. Abd Allah
The integral frequency distributions of the numbers of projectile alpha fragments produced in nuclear multifragmentations at intermediate and high energies are studied by a simple two-source model. The calculated results are approximately in agreement with the experimental data of 16O, 40Ar, 56Fe, 84Kr, 139La, and 197Au multifragmentations in nuclear emulsions at 2.00A, 1.80A, 1.80A, 0.08-1.70A, 0.60-0.99A, and 0.60-0.99A GeV, respectively. The initial energy of nuclear limiting fragmentation is expected to be at or lower than 0.08A GeV. Two correlations between the mean multiplicity of projectile alpha fragments (〈 nα 〉) and the projectile mass number, as well as 〈 nα 〉 and the maximum multiplicity of projectile alpha fragments are observed. © 2007 Elsevier B.V. Neutral pion transverse momentum (pT) spectra at midrapidity (|y|□0.35) were measured in Cu+Cu collisions at sNN=22.4, 62.4, and 200 GeV. Relative to π0 yields in p+p collisions scaled by the number of inelastic nucleon-nucleon collisions (Ncoll) the π0 yields for pT □2GeV/c in central Cu+Cu collisions are suppressed at 62.4 and 200 GeV whereas an enhancement is observed at 22.4 GeV. A comparison with a jet-quenching model suggests that final state parton energy loss dominates in central Cu+Cu collisions at 62.4 and 200 GeV, while the enhancement at 22.4 GeV is consistent with nuclear modifications in the initial state alone. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Target black fragment flows in magnesium-emulsion collisions at 4.5A GeV/c
    (2008) Fu-Hu Liu; San-Hong Fan; N.N. Abd Allah; B.K. Singh
The experimental results of polar, azimuthal, and projected angular distributions of target black fragments produced in magnesium-emulsion collisions at 4.5A GeV/c (the Dubna synchrophasotron momentum) are reported. The flow characteristics are obtained. The azimuthal and projected angular distributions as well as some relationships between flows and angles depend on the size of target in the case of considering both light and heavy targets, and do not depend on the multiplicity in the case of considering heavy target. © 2008 Elsevier Ltd.
