Studies in the Two‐Phase System Sodium Formate‐Pyridine. III. Extraction of copper and Analysis of Copper Pyrites

Abstract

Results are given for the extraction of copper by pyridine from sodium formate solutions. An almost complete extraction is obtained by a three‐stage batch extraction technique. A procedure for the separation of iron and copper is described and it is shown that by this extraction method the analysis of copper pyrites is rendered comparitively much easier than the usual classical methods.
