Abstract

We study the possibilities of generation of bimodal version of the higher-order squeezing, sum- and difference-squeezing by using the ‘beam splitter of materials having third-order nonlinearity (BSTN)’. We find that these higher-order squeezing can be generated by using this BSTN under different conditions. As a simplest case, we inject light with coherent state at one input port and the vacuum at another input port and our analysis shows the generation of sum- and difference-squeezing at the output port of BSTN. In this way, this BSTN acts as a novel quantum device to generate the radiation exhibiting sum- and difference-squeezing. © 2020, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.
