Comment on the phonon cranking model

Abstract

The energy equations in the phonon cranking model of Fogel et al. are shown to be equivalent to those in the centrifugal stretching model. The two models are found to differ, however, in their predictions regarding information about the nuclear shape in the excited states as discussed inthe text. © 1976 IOP Publishing Ltd.
