In the present investigation, nickel-substituted cobalt ferrite (Ni0.5Co0.5Fe2O4) nanoparticles are synthesized using chemical co-precipitation method. Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) base is used as precipitant. The formation of single-phase cubic structure and the average crystalline sizes are evaluated by X-ray diffraction technique. The microstructural features is examined by scanning electron microscopy. The high- and low-frequency absorption bands (600–400 cm−1) of Ni0.5Co0.5Fe2O4 are investigated using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy analysis. © 2019 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
