Abstract

Gay-Berne (GR) potential has been proved to be a valuable model with which to investigate the liquid crystals using computer simulation in ll-dimension. In this work we consider the GB model containing the most commonly used values of the four parameters with, various values of length-to-breadth ratios which has not been considered before in 2-dimension.Correlation functions are expanded in complete set ol orthogonal functions. We have considered 16 Body-fixed harmonic coeficients in the expansion of correlation functions and using this we have solved Percus Yevick ( PY ) integral equation combined with Ornstein Zernike equation. The accuracy of the par correlation functions givcn by integral cquation theory has been tested by those obtaincd by NV'I'Montc carlo simulation . Results so obtained have been used in Density Functional Theory (DFT) to study freezing transions.
