Genetic diversity and phylogenetic analyses of cyanobacteria based on nif K, psb A and ntcA conserved sequences
(Department of Botany, 2015-08-31) Mishra, A.K
Cyanobacteria are photosynthetic prokaryotes, which possess mainly chlorophyll-a. Cyanobacteria are approximated to have occurred as a long ago as 2,600 to 3,500 millions years based on fossil records, organic biomarkers and genomic sequence analysis. They are known to inhabit a range of habitats, including plant surfaces but this has not been adequately explored for improving their biofertilizing potenctial in agriculture and the rhizosphere is a relatively unexplored frontier.

Germplasm conservation of Couroupita guianensis and Spondias mangifera through tissue culture
(Department of Botany, 2015-12-31) Kumari, Nishi
Seedling of Spondias mangifera were raised. Nodal explants were used to raise in vitro plantlets through the protocol developed by Tripathi and Kumari(2012). Leaf segments from in vitro raised plantlets were used as explants to induce callusing. Inoculation of leaf explants were done on Murashige and Skoog's medium supplemented with various auxins and cytokinins either alone or in combinations.
